The Benefits Of Lemon Water Herbal Tea

As you’ve probably already guessed, drinking herbal tea is a foundation for my daily self care and health care. No matter what the weather is outside, I try to work at least one cup of herbal tea into my diet each day – either to support some healing I’m doing or to act as a general tonic or relaxation method. No matter what I’m sipping or why, there’s one thing that always makes it into my mug – a squeeze of fresh lemon. While it may seem strange, I have a feeling that if you aren’t a lemon water drinker, you will be by the end of this post!

Lemon goes really well with herbal tea, and in most cases I can’t really even taste it. Some herbs like chamomile, peppermint, and rooibos deserve an extra squeeze of lemon since it works really well with them. Other herbs and blends, especially more savory ones, may require a lot less. Either way, a squeeze of fresh organic lemon can take the healing power of your favorite herbal tea blend to the next level – and here are just a few of the many reasons why…

Lemon supports the body in natural, gentle detoxification which means that your body may be able to process and release more toxins during the day so that you can look, feel, and function better than ever!

Lemons are naturally anti-bacterial and can help regulate bacteria in the gut and get rid of bacteria that shouldn’t be there.

Adding lemon to your warm herbal tea can help your body get back to a healthy pH level.

If you struggle with a slow digestion or with food sitting in your gut for too long, lemon water can help aid in healthier digestion while also helping with the production of various digestive juices.

Lemon is naturally anti-inflammatory which means that adding it to your tea could help relieve issues like joint pain and muscle soreness. It also helps the body dissolve uric acid, a leading cause of many joint pain issues.

The nutrients in lemon juice play an important role in eye health and may help your eyes stay strong, clear, bright, and focused!

After a long workout, lemon juice added to a recovery or energy herbal tea blend can help your body replenish its various essential salts.

Lemons boost the immune system and help your body fight off everything from the common cold to infections. You can thank the epic dose of vitamin C for that!

Adding lemon juice to your herbal tea is a chemical-free way to have fresh breath that lasts!

Lemons are super rich in antioxidants which means younger, healthier, clearer looking skin!

The nutrients and fragrance of lemons is known to help lift feelings of anxiety, depression, and fatigue. It’s nourishment and aromatherapy all in one!

Lemon Herbal Tea Benefits

Here’s how to use it…

As long as you don’t have a weak stomach or a high occurrence of acid reflux, 1/4 – 1/2 of a fresh organic lemon squeeze into your warm (not cold or hot) herbal tea should be fine. Make sure to squeeze through a sieve to catch any seeds.

If you find that lemon water aggravates your stomach or causes issues like heartburn, try using it every other day and cutting the amount you use in half.

Couldn’t be simpler, right?
